“Deep, brilliant violet color. Spice-accented cherry, raspberry and candied rose qualities on the nose, plus a hint of vanillin oak in the background. Juicy and energetic on the palate, showing vibrant lift to its bitter cherry, red berry and sweet chewing tobacco flavors. Turns sweeter on the subtly tannic finish, which hangs on with strong, spicy tenacity. Made in 20% new oak.” 


 


“Spice- and smoke-accented dark berries, cherry pit, pungent flowers and pipe tobacco on the highly perfumed nose. Chewy, and energetic on the palate, offering concentrated cassis, bitter cherry, rose pastille and fruitcake flavors that turn spicier on the back half. Spice and mineral notes resonate on a very long finish framed by slow-building tannins.”

 

    
“Dark purple. Deeply pitched black/blue fruit, licorice and dark chocolate aromas take on espresso and candied violet notes with air. Broad, ripe and fleshy in style, it offers palate-coating, deeply concentrated cassis, bitter cherry, singed plum and fruitcake flavors that are sharpened by a hint of cracked pepper.”

 



“Brilliant red. Bright and energetic on the nose, displaying an array of ripe red fruit and floral qualities and a spicy topnote. Juicy raspberry and cherry flavors deepen with air while maintaining urgency. Lingers with very good authority on the clinging finish, which is framed by smooth tannins.” 

 


“Opaque ruby. Powerful aromas of oak-spiced cherry, cassis, vanilla and dark chocolate are given lift by a smoky mineral element that gains strength with air. Sweet and seamless on the palate, it offers concentrated dark fruit liqueur, mocha, floral pastille and sweet, chewing tobacco flavors and a jolt of exotic spices. Round, even tannins build slowly on an impressively long, velvety finish that emphatically echoes the floral and spice notes.”

 


“Inky ruby. Intensely perfumed aromas of ripe black/blue fruits, vanilla and potpourri take on smoky mineral and incense nuances with air. Concentrated black currant, cherry-vanilla, spice-cake and rose pastille flavors are joined by suggestions of candied licorice and cracked pepper. Finishes on an appealingly sweet, oak-spiced dark fruit liqueur note, with youthfully gripping tannins and sharp definition.”
